Under 15 Boys Football

Congratulations to our U15 Boys team who won the Division 1 Southern Regional Final tonight against Naomh Conaill on a scoreline of 1.11 to 0.11.

The boys put in a big shift in the Convoy Centre of Excellence tonight to take the spoils.

They lead the way for most of the game after getting off to a great start scoring two points from Oisin Doherty and Calum Dunnion and a brilliant goal from Oisin to get them off to a flyer. Glenties replied with a brace of points of their own but 3 more points, one from Conor mc Caul and two from Turlough Carr had them comfortable at half time – 1.5 to 0.3

The glenties lads were never going to lay down and came strong at the start of the second half with two quick points. We replied with a couple of frees from Conor mc Caul to keep a bit of distance between us.

Glenties though didn’t give up and pulled it back again to three points . At this stage it was nip and tuck until Alan mc Hugh took the ball from his own half back line to run the field to score the point of the night.

As it went into the closing stages the teams continued to trade points with Turlough getting two more for us to finally see the game out winning by three.

It was a great game and a super victory for the boys and management.

Calum Mc Crea accepted the cup on behalf of the team and held it high to a delighted Four Masters crowd.

The boys now play St. Eunans in the county quarter final on Sunday morning in Tir Conaill Park.

Team: Seoirse O’Flaherty , Cian Gavigan, Aidan Quinn, Alan McHugh 0.1, Patrick McGonigle, Calum McCrea (Capt) Jake Quinn, Tiernan Mc Bride , Daniel McGinty, Lee McNamee, Oisin Doherty 1.1, Theo Colhoun ,Turlough Carr 0.4 Calum Dunnion 0.1 Conor Mc Caul 0.4

Subs: Niall Feeney for Theo Colhoun, Owen O’Neill for Jake Quinn, David Lagan for Calum Dunnion
