Senior Hurling

Four Masters kicked off their junior hurling championship campaign with a fine win over Sean McCumhaills at Tir Conaill Park on Wednesday evening.

The home team stormed into the game from the throw in, and with a blitz of scoring led their visitors by 4-06 to no score at the end of the first quarter. Four Masters never allowed the opposition get a foothold in the game thereafter and ran our convincing winners in the end. A good start to the championship, but the lads will be aware that tougher challenges lie ahead.

Congratulations to our Under 13 Division 1 team who won the Southern Regional title against Dungloe in Killybegs on Monday evening.

Under 12 Girls Football

Another wonderful display of football from our U12 girls team on Sunday evening in Ballybofey vs McCumhaills. There was some great passing and team work on show. With a swirling wind, it took the girls a while to get going. Through hard work & support play the girls eventually got into their rythem, defending resolutely and working the ball sweetly up the pitch. Some of the scores were a joy to watch from this young group.

With a large squad, all the players got some game time and they all made a contribution.

Keep up the good work girls.

Under 14 Girls Football

Our U14 team played our penultimate game on Saturday morning in Tir Chonaill Park vs Glenswilly.

Thanks to Glenswilly for accommodating an earlier throw in so some of our girls could attend family First Holy Communion.

Our girls took a while to settle into the game but once we started our good passing game, the scores started to flow.

Good teamwork and support play saw some wonderful points & goals as we went into half time with a comfortable 3-7 to 1 goal lead.

The second half saw the introduction of 3 of our U12 girls, who settled in well and we continued to dominate the game.

A total of 9 players scored with goals coming from Sara (4), Teagan, Caoimhe and a super long distance effort from young Michaela.

Our defence were resolute throughout , with a final score of 7-12 to 1-2.

Well done to all the girls.

Next up is the final match of the season vs our near neighbours St Nauls next Saturday morning in Mountcharles.
